The Louisville Water Foundation’s recent Report to the Community shows the organization focused on four major areas throughout 2025: customer assistance, water infrastructure and access, education, and sustainability.
Through the Drops of Kindness℠ program, the Foundation’s customer assistance work helped nearly 48,000 individuals and families in the Louisville Water and/or MSD service areas. This included grants to community agencies that support customers facing financial hardship.
The Foundation also awarded grants to organizations working to ensure access to safe, reliable water. For example, support for Louisville-based Water By Women provided water filters, related equipment, and training for hundreds of women in marginalized communities in Haiti. Closer to home, a grant to WaterStep helped equip the organization’s Disaster Response Trailer, strengthening their ability to respond to emergencies throughout our region such as damage to water infrastructure caused by natural disasters.

Other grants advanced water education and promoted environmental stewardship. For instance, the Foundation supported Watershed Watch by helping that organization establish a new support hub at Bellarmine University for Watershed’s volunteer-based waterway monitoring program.
Overall, the Foundation’s work promoted understanding of water’s indispensable role in daily life and advanced a future where safe water is always available to everyone everywhere.
