We set our own New Year’s resolution: to bring you a better customer experience!

This year marks the start of a new billing schedule for Louisville Water. We reorganized the schedule so customers can expect their water bill around the same day every single month, barring holidays and weekends.
This billing reset is a one-time fix. While some customers may notice a new due date this month, everyone can expect their bill to have the same due date the following month accounting for the typical 28 to 32 days of usage.
“Our goal with this reset is simpler, more predictable billing,” said Dave Vogel, executive vice president of Louisville Water. “This change coupled with the new Pure Connect℠ portal and advanced metering infrastructure provides our customers with an opportunity to track trends in their water usage and keep costs as low as possible.”
Your bill amount should become more consistent with this change, except for any seasonal changes that could impact your water usage.
For example, people tend to use more water in the summer when it’s hot or during holiday breaks when kids are home and visitors are in town.

Since your bill is based on how much water you use, customers can monitor their water use in near real time and set notifications when they are approaching higher-than-normal levels. This is a great tool to help you budget and keep your bill at a predictable amount.
Visit the Help Center on LouisvilleWater.com to see a step-by-step guide on how to set these notifications up within Pure Connect.
“I use this feature every single day,” one Louisville Water customer shared with us. “It’s a great tool to track trends around normal usage and abnormal usage. With Pure Connect, customers can take control of their usage, saving money and water.”
Louisville Water sets its water rates with a focus on quality, reliability, and affordability. Beginning January 1, 2026, residential customers will see a monthly average increase of $1.25 for their drinking water service. To put that in perspective, the average customer who uses 4,000 gallons of water monthly can expect to pay $30.62 in drinking water charges.
We understand that making ends meet can be challenging at times. Drops of Kindness is an affordability program in partnership with Louisville MSD to provide payment assistance to those who need help paying their water bill.
